Our certification program

The GCA proposes a voluntary three-tier certification program for local homes and businesses.  Please register your interest here and be amongst the first to achieve status when the program begins. 

 

Blanc Tier:  Home/business receives a briefing on good lighting practices.

Gris Tier:  Home/business takes initial steps to improve outdoor lighting [shielding, timing or colour temperature] and/or hosts Dark Sky events

Noir Tier: Home/business fully compliant with International Dark Sky guideline for dark-sky friendly outdoor lighting [e.g. colour temperature 3000K or less, lights fully shielded with no visibility of illuminaire beyond horizontal].
